A Gephyrophobiac's Review Of The Taxpayers' Bridge.
via The Leading Brand Blog.
I have a bit of a fear of bridges. I'm always worried they're going to collapse. I think
they're poorly built and just waiting to collapse. I am intelligent enough to recognize
that this almost never happens, but unlucky enough to feel that it's probably going to
be me on there when it does.
I went to the
Sox game last night, and since I have to take the King's Highway
home - now that I dwell on the landmass called
New Hampshire - I got to drive on
The Taxpayers' Bridge.
It's pretty neat. It's very pretty at night. It scared me
half to death.
Apparently the only thing scarier than a bridge is a new bridge, one where maybe they
haven't worked out all the kinks yet. Also, the southbound side is not open, which makes
me think that there must be
giant holes
in the other side, or
drunken
construction workers
who might just cut a support beam out of boredom.
I also gave my friend, Taxpayer Chris, a lift to Agent Center, and wound up using
The Taxpayers' Northbound Tunnel
too, which is just generally way too spiffy to be located under the landmass called Boston.
Someone should throw some
graffiti up on the walls and
break a few of the electronic
readout exit signs, just to make it feel more like Boston.
Anyway, only twenty-eight years left until everything's done and all of
the agents for the Boston taxpayers can scare the shit out me. Can't wait.
