Agent Gamblers Tap Into Boston Taxpayer Pride.

The agents of the taxpayers are getting into the Baseball World Series act.

If the Cardinals win, agent Edward Kennedy will pay for a lobster roll and chowder lunch for the hacks of agent Kit Bond. If Boston wins, agent Bond will treat Kennedy's hacks to a steak lunch at a St. Louis restaurant.

Meanwhile, Boston agent Mumbles Menino and St. Louis agent Francis Slay announced a wager of their own.

Menino offered a variety of goodies, including a seafood dinner and a Boston cream pie, while Slay offered up toasted ravioli, Anheuser-Busch products (you mean there is more than just watered-down Czech bier?), Bissinger chocolate and prizes he won from the agents of the taxpayers of Los Angeles and Houston.

Curse Reversed

The KeySpan gas tank which sit on the landmass called Dorchester section of Boston, a landmark long famous for its rainbow of bright colors, will be showing Red Sox spirit.

The agents of KeySpan announced that at night the Red Sox logo, with its red-toed stockings, and the message "Keep the Faith" would be projected onto the the tank along with the Keyspan brand.

"The rainbow tank is a powerful symbol of inspiration - as are the Boston taxpayers' beloved Red Sox. We believe they can go all the way this time. And we're going to show it," said Robert of KeySpan.

The Taxpayers' Bridge also flew Red Sox colors, sporting two banners, one with the classic Red Sox "B" and another that said, "Go Sox!"

Ed. Note - Who provided the banners? Who hung them up!? I would like to feature them in an interview on this blog - that is The Taxpayers' Bridge.

The Art of Structural Design.

A Swiss Taxpayer Legacy

You know about their watches, ski slopes, and that Miss who peddles cocoa. Do you know that Swiss taxpayers have designed many of the US agents' famous bridges? Next time you're stuck in traffic on The Taxpayers' Bridge or the New York agents' George Washington or Verrazano-Narrows bridges, look around. "The Art of Structural Design: A Swiss Taxpayer Legacy" at the MIT Museum's Compton Gallery celebrates Swiss-taxpayer-designed bridges through Dec 30th.

Drawings, photographs, archival material, paintings, models, and an interactive stereoscopic photography display reinforce the key role of aesthetics in structural design.
