Russell Kanning Kidnapped for Refusing to Present Grubmint ID to US Agents at Airport Checkpoint. The forum thread describing today's events starts here. Here is another report. Ed. Note: My title may be a little misleading. Even though he did not present grumbmint ID (nor, I presume, have it "on him"), the agents (per the agents' own policies, I surmize) might very well have let him through the checkpoint (and thus on to his Philly-bound plane) if he then, after walking through the metal detector, had only submitted to more body searching (I am just making a hypothesis - and, I was not there). If I read correctly, he then intentionally refused the extra body searching. Was the refusal on the part of Mr. Kanning to submit to the extra body searching AND his refusal to 'head back to where he came from' when an agent 'ordered' him to do so, the SOLE reason his kidnappers gave as their 'justification' for kidnapping Mr. Kanning? If yes, then that may imply that the agents currently have no policies that say they 'shall prevent passage to a traveller that presents no grubmint ID' but that they do have policies in place to 'demand' that such a traveller submit to more body searching. Non-taxpaying Taxpayer Without Grubmint ID Vows to Board Flight or be Kidnapped. In a press release dated May 21, 2005, the non-taxpaying taxpayer who refers to himself as Russell Kanning and as dwelling on the landmass called Keene, will, on June 11th, attempt to board a Philidelphia-bound flight (airline unknown by this author) at the Manchester airport without showing a grubmint ID when asked to do so by check-in agents and airport agents. He will most likely then be kidnapped by grubmint agents at-the-ready. See the backgrounder in the "Ed. Note" of this post. See also this post.
