New Orleans Gold.
"Has anyone heard about New Orleans banks being crushed by Katrina? Are there
eight-foot-thick steel vaults full of jewelry, gold, drug cash and other assets floating
and turning over and over under the receding waters? If so, look for Delta Force people
in signficant numbers gathering around with flamethrowers, knockout EM weapons, and
watch for cordons of parked tanks." ~ Jon Rappoport of

The Culture Of Bi-metalism, Circa Early-1933.
Lawrence White of DivisionOfLabour.com picks up on the story, posted on CNN.com,
of the Langbords family who recently found ten "Double Eagle" $20 gold coins -- each with a mint date
of 1933.
In his post,
Lawrence links to a link which has a copy of the April 5, 1933 decree
(mirrored here
(.pdf, 1.6MB)) prohibiting the hoarding of gold coin
by certain classes of 'natural persons' - see Section 2 of the decree for those who are exempted
(which puts the whole decree into the perspective light of what only can deemed (decreed?) as
'classic, no, quintessential Hack').

This post led me to think of something that I have never thought of before...
Let's pretend that today is February 9, 1933, and that you and I dwell on the landmass
called New York City, and that that puts us at a point in time that is 29 or 30 days before
the March 9, 1933 decree is decreed --
which is the decree that FDR decrees allows hims to decree the April 5 Hoarding decree.
In the culture of bi-metalism at that time, culturally and business-wise speaking, which of the following
had more value bestowed upon it
by the average person, by the average small-business man:
One (minted in 1931, what was the purity?)
"Double Eagle" $20 gold coin or
twenty (minted in 1931, what was the purity? 90%?) "Libery(?)" $1 silver coins?
